Alison Tucker’s debut album, Where You Used to Be, is more than just music; it’s a memoir in song - a reflection of her journey as a gay woman coming out, the emotional highs and lows of love and loss, the death of friends and family, and the inevitable passage of time.
Each track creates a unique situation and expression of the multi-layered emotions and convoluted thoughts that we all experience as we struggle to regain our footing and find our way.
In 2020, Alison found herself stepping into the difficult journey of divorce. Most of her life had been divided between two worlds—a 20-year corporate career and 13 years as a stay-at-home mom. She felt adrift, but deep inside, there was still a spark. In her early twenties, Alison had been a performing singer-songwriter, and that passion has never faded.
Where You Used to Be is a beautiful testament to that eternal flame.
